I've decided to start my page with a review of my La Montre Vivre for a specific reason. You see I started collecting watches a few years ago but then my house was broken into and all but one watch was stolen. The one I had worn that dread full day, the La Montre.
At one stage this was my favorite watch. Most of my watches are inspired by something. The inspiration for getting this watch was the black and white Omega Speedmaster Jason Statham wears in the Transporter movie. Unfortunately the Omega was way out of my price range.
I purchased my La Montre from Galaxy & Co. a jewelry retailer who recently got liquidated here in South Africa. The watch cost me six hundred rand (42 Dollars, 37 Euro). La Montre was also an in-house brand of Galaxy & Co. this means all warranties on these watches are now null and void. When I bought mine it had a two year guarantee which did not include the strap.
The watch is fitted with a Miyota quartz movement. It has a date feauture and two smaller working sundials on the watch face for minutes and seconds. It claims to be be waterproof for up to 50 meters but I have never worn this watch in water.
